I've recently ...Funny you should mention this. I've recently started checking out Moby Grape (after listening to The Rhythm Dukes, a band which prominently features Moby Grape's Jerry Miller) and stumbled upon Spence's Oar in the process.

It is an interesting album and one I may have to review myself at some point (along with Moby Grape's debut).

I've read that Spence was referred to as "The American Syd Barrett" given his troubled genius and reclusive nature.Perplexiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09971805688658949769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34225552.post-50504663561696970682010-01-05T01:57:31.267-05:002010-01-05T01:57:31.267-05:00Hi Sean,

Although I am not familiar with Mr. Spence's music I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it, especially when you describe it as ethereal, bare-bones and unfinished. It sounds like it would be right up my alley and can't wait to check it out. I love it when music is timeless and clearly his was if Beck, Wilco and Feist are covering his song.Rachelhttp://www.imaginingwonderland.comnoreply@blogger.com
