Chuck Clarke and Lyle Rogers!

Hard to believe that it's been 22 years since "Ishtar" was released to an indifferent public and savage reviews. I sat in a mostly empty theatre and almost filled my Depends laughing at this brilliant movie. People walked out. It must be tough when you go through life without a sense of humor.

One of my favorite films as it is beautifully strange on so many levels. Paul Williams wrote the songs performed by the hapless duo. Misunderstood and ahead of its time.

Similar movies in this genre? "The Pick of Destiny", "A Mighty Wind" and "This Is Spinal Tap" are a few that instantly come to mind.
