The gentlemen pictured above are David, Bobby and Dannis Hackney who played in a power trio called "Death" in the early to mid 70's. Up to this morning, I had not heard of them. One of the great pleasures in my life is discovering music that did not find an audience in its time. I will now try to hunt down their stuff, as they were apparently ahead of the curve with their material. Please feel free to have a look at the article.

Oh, I love that too! Discovering any new music...new or old but new to me is a thrill. I will check them out, never heard of then either.

If you dig this stuff, and have plenty of time to devote to trying to find it, check out a compilation called: "Chains and black exhaust."
Same type of thing; forgotten sides by young black bands in the early 1970's who were hopped up on Hendrix, Love, and Sly Stone and didn't know what else to do.
The original recordings were as obscure as this, and the re-release was very limited, very mysterious, and very much a bootleg. But when you hear it, it's like hearing the voice of god.
